A well-oiled Hungarian side withstood some early pressure and shocked Austria in the second half to win 2-0, causing the biggest surprise of Euro 2016 so far.

On the hour mark, outstanding interplay between Adam Szalai and Laszlo Kleinheisler broke through the Austrian defence and allowed the Hannover forward to slide the ball under the goalkeeper.

Austria did not seem to have an answer for the goal and their hopes were utterly derailed when Aleksandar Dragovic was sent-off for a recklessly late tackle inside his own offensive penalty area.

The Nemzeti Tizenegy‘s first win on the major international stage in decades was sealed in the 87th minute with a razor sharp counter-attack, which saw substitute Zoltan Stieber finish with a perfect chip over Robert Almer.

Iceland produced a gritty display to draw 1-1 with a possession dominate Portugal, who will rue their inability to kill off the opposition with a hatful of chances.

Portugal dominated proceedings in the first half and deservedly got their reward on 31 minutes through Nani.

Andre Gomes cut through the Icelandic defence by exchanging passes with Vieirinha on the right. The Valencia midfielder’s low cross was met at the near post by Nani, who steered the ball past Halldorson and into the net.

Birkir Bjarnason found himself completely unmarked at the back post and was duly picked out by Johann Gudmundsson’s cross for an emphatic finish.
