A late Brendan Santalab goal sent the Wanderers back to the top of the A-League and spoiled Luis Garcia’s arrival at Central Coast earlier this evening.
A shaky start from the hosts let the Wanderers take an early advantage, with a horrific attempted back pass from Storm Roux snapped-up by Mark Bridge and put into the back of the net.

The confidence and desire for a positive result was clear from Tony Popovic’s side, who easily could have been up by more, while at the other end the Mariners offered little in attack until the hour-mark when headline signing Luis Garcia made his debut.

Central Coast began to gain momentum straight away and a perfect through ball from Garcia setup Fabio Ferreria for a 68th minute equaliser.
Yet, a reckless red card earned by Nick Montgomery gave the Wanderers a chance to take all three points late on and Stantalab would spoil the Gosford party just minutes from the final whistle with an easy tap-in.
