How Twitter reacted to Manchester United’s 2-1 Community Shield win

Jose Mourinho’s new era at Manchester United began with an early piece of silverware after a 2-1 triumph over Leicester City in the Community Shield last night.

A late header by superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved the difference at an electric Wembley Stadium, with the Foxes showing they have plenty of fight ready for their title defence.

A magnificent solo effort from Jesse Lingard would give the Red Devils an initial advantage on the half-hour mark, with the winger driving the ball past opposition defenders and into the box, then slotting it past Kasper Schmeichel. Much like their title winning campaign the reigning Premier League champions would not say die though, equalising soon after halftime when Jamie Vardy pounced on a dismal backpass from Maroune Fellaini.

Some late heroics would be needed to break the deadlock, and Manchester fans found out they might just have the best player for these situations as new arrival Ibrahimovic rose above Wes Morgan and headed home a cross off the post in the 83rd minute.
