Manchester City have claimed bragging rights in the Manchester derby after a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
The visitors took the lead through a clinical finish from Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho doubled the lead when he reacted quickly to a shot from De Bruyne which struck the post for a simple close range tap in.
Manchester United were thrown a lifeline when Zlatan Ibrahimović capitalised on a horrible error from City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo moments before half-time.
In an end-to-end affair in the second half both teams had clear-cut opportunities, but neither were able to find the back of the net as Pep Guardiola enjoyed a priceless victory against his opposite number Jose Mourinho.

Weird choice from Mourinho to not play Pogba in United’s biggest game of the season. #MUNMCI

What a game! Great stuff. De Bruyne out of this world. Big mistake by Mourinho playing a rusty Lingard & of the pace Miki. #MUFC #MUNMCI

Difference today was first 40 mins. City dominated and that cost United the game. Will be hard but need to move on from this. #MUNMCI #MUFC

United and City rightly applauded off. Fantastic match. Rarely seen players look so exhausted at the end. Gave everything. #MUNMCI
