Melbourne Victory travelled to Adelaide in the first round of their title defence against what could potentially be a title rival.
However a disallowed Kosta Barbarouses goal was the closest either side got to breaking the deadlock in what was an underwhelming result considering the calibre on show.
Besart Berisha, uncharacteristically, wasted a host of chances before Victory were forced onto the back foot after stand-in captain Leigh Broxham was sent for an early shower.
Danny Vukovic was called into only one real save to keep his side in the match, but Twitter was hardly impressed with the spectacle.
Oh and moving the game to Adelaide Oval was not a popular opinion.
