Paul Pogba’s recent transfer to Manchester United of €105m surpassed the Welshman’s move to Real Madrid back in 2013.

However, upon questioning in a recent press conference, Bale insisted “he couldn’t care less” about being eclipsed as the world’s most expensive player.

“I’m not fussed and I couldn’t care less. None of the players have pulled my leg about it,” Bale said.

Bale is heavily focused on the upcoming season with Real Madrid and a potential Champions League final in Cardiff high on his priority list.

“It would be amazing to get there, my aim is to win as many trophies as I can, as many Champions Leagues as I can. That will be the aim again this year,” said Bale.

“I played the Super Cup in Cardiff before and it was an amazing experience to have my friends and family close by.”

“I suppose there’s a little more motivation if there needs to be any more and we’ll be trying to make history in Cardiff.”

Bale is on international duty with Wales as they kick-start their World Cup qualifying campaign against Moldova.
