It is only early, but can Koln be the surprise of this season?
While only five games into the campaign, fans and pundits have already learnt plenty about all of the Bundesliga sides, and FC Koln have started as well as nearly anyone. Sitting fourth behind the arguable ‘big three’ of Dortmund, Bayern and Wolfsburg, they have only lost one match, albeit heavily, but have also drawn with Wolfsburg and recorded strong wins over Hamburg and Stuttgart. As Gladbach’s season begins to slide toward obscurity and a potential relegation dogfight later on, Koln are sitting pretty, and with some very winnable games up next before a key clash with Schalke, things are looking up for Peter Stoger and his side.
