Norwich City recorded their first win in seven matches after Jonathan Howson’s header was enough to beat Swansea City at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.

The Canaries found the way to end poor run in a not so interesting match, but the three points stay in Norwich nonetheless. The only goal was scored after 70 minutes of a tactical battle, when Howson headed home after Dieumerci Mbokani’s assist. The first-half was rather dull and event-less, with only one shot on target combined. Norwich were sitting back, with a solid defensive block in front of the box, leaving visitors to try scoring only from distance.

In the second-half, Swansea lacked energy and flamboyancy, giving opportunity for the hosts to charge upfront. Alex Neil’s players managed to do exactly that, making all of their best chances after the break. Gary Monk’s substitutions in Leon Britton, Wayne Routledge and Eder did not bring anything positive to his side’s display. With the time passing, the hosts had less and less problems defending the lead they earned. The Canaries not only won for the first time since early September, but they also recorded first clean sheet of the season.
