Bournemouth may not miss Callum Wilson as much as initially thought

Eddie Howe was dealt a terrible blow last week as he learned star striker Callum Wilson will spend six-months sidelined due to injury, but would have been delighted to see his replacement Murray’s performance. Although the deadline day signing from Crystal Palace missed a late penalty, his movement and awareness was good throughout – eventually resulting in a top class first-half headed goal.

While Wilson’s pace was one of the key facets of this Cherries side, Murray, next to new strike partner Josh King, looked an equally formidable prospect on Saturday.

Watford need to create more

Quique Sanchez Flores has worked tirelessly to improve his side defensively since taking over in the summer, but it appears to have come at the expense of the attacking verve Watford possessed in the Championship last year. Ighalo is largely being relied upon for goals with Troy Deeney offering decent support, but the Hornets do not create all that many chances and do not play with a high enough tempo.

Almen Abdi’s return to form is a boost for Flores, the Swiss schemer able to pick passes that not all could see and he may make a difference in time, but the visitors did not commit enough bodies forward or play quickly enough at Bournemouth.

With Arsenal next up, Watford fans cannot expect much of a change up any time soon, but they will eventually have to show more ambition around the 18-yard box.
