Phil Jones is keen to stay at Manchester United beyond this transfer window according to reports from the Guardian. The 24-year-old has not featured in a matchday squad yet this season and both Arsenal and Stoke City are reportedly interested in making a move for the player.

In more news from Old Trafford, manager Jose Mourinho remains heavily interested in Southampton defender Jose Fonte. The Manchester Evening News is claiming that Mourinho is willing to wait until deadline day before making a move for the Portuguese international.

Liverpool is preparing to send out experienced defender Mamadou Sakho in a bid to improve his match fitness according to the Daily Telegraph. The French international has yet to feature this season having been sent home early from the club’s pre-season tour before sustaining a heel injury.

The Daily Mirror speculates that Tottenham remains interested in signing Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko before the end of the transfer window. Their report claims Spurs are set to offer Nabil Bentaleb as part of a deal to bring the 27-year-old Frenchman to White Hart Lane.

Premier League duo Arsenal and Everton have suffered a double blow in their pursuit of two Lyon players. French publication RMC is reporting that Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette is set to remain with the club while winger Rachid Ghezzal has turned down a move to the Toffees this summer.

Former manager David Moyes has dealt Everton another transfer blow by blocking any potential move for Lamine Kone. The Sunderland manager won’t allow the defender to leave as he struggles to find any potential reinforcements according to the Daily Mail.

Napoli has stepped up their attempts to keep defender Kalidou Koulibaly at the club this summer by offering him a new contract. La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the new deal would include a €70 million release clause for clubs outside of Europe, a blow for Chelsea and Everton who are reportedly keen on the player.

And in the second piece of news from the Tigers, caretaker manager Mike Phelan wants to make Aston Villa defender Micah Richards the club’s first signing of the summer claims the Daily Mirror. The club is in desperate need of signings with only 13 fit senior players available, two of whom are goalkeepers.
