Burnley announced their first two signings of the summer window today, with a double player swoop coming from Charlton. The first name confirmed of the day was of Iceland international Johann Berg Gudmundsson, who joins the Clarets on a three-year deal with an option for an extra year at the end of the 2018-19 season. The winger enjoyed a strong Euro 2016 campaign and started every game for his nation, picking up one assist on their run to the quarter-finals.

Goalkeeper Nick Pope joined his former teammate in the same move only a matter of hours later on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Burnley manager Sean Dyche claimed the 24-year-old has plenty of promise with time on his side.

Liverpool may have a battle on their hands if they want to keep young striker Divock Origi beyond this summer according to Bleacher Report. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid could turn their attentions to the Belgium international if they fail in luring Chelsea’s Diego Costa back to La Liga.

In what will be music to the hears of both Arsenal and Chelsea, Barcelona are willing to sell Arda Turan after just one season at the club suggests TalkSPORT. The Turkish international is valued at £20 million and the Spanish giants will be hoping that figure can rise if the Premier League pair do in fact do battle for the midfielder.

Stoke City’s interest in West Brom’s Saido Berahino has been confirmed by Mark Hughes in the past 24 hours. The manager stated to Sky Sports that the Potters want to sign the striker this summer and have submitted a bid of £20 million, but are yet to hear back from their top-flight rivals.

In further news from Stoke, the Guardian is also linking the club with a move for Ecuadorian striker Jose Angulo. The 21-year-old currently plays for Independiente del Valle in his home nation and the Potters have an eye on the man, who has attracted interest from several clubs in Europe and Mexico.

Manchester City have made the first move for West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford according to Sky Sports, however, the claims are denied by those at the Etihad. City are widely expected to go head-to-head with cross-town rivals United in a bid to sign the 17-year-old, who burst onto the Premier League season on the opening matchday of last season with a superb performance against Arsenal.

Diafra Sakho looks to be another player on the way out of the Hammers this summer and several Premier League clubs are lining up a move for the forward. The Mirror claims that Crystal Palace have joined the likes of Sunderland, Swansea and West Brom in the pursuit of the 26-year-old.

As Manchester United set out for their pre-season tour of China, a number of first-team regulars and fringe players were left behind, an omission which could spell trouble. Defender Tyler Blackett and striker James Wilson were two names who missed out on the trip and the Daily Telegraph are reporting that the pair will join Will Keane in heading for the Old Trafford exit this summer.
