David Ospina – 6: Entirely untroubled.
Hector Bellerin – 8.5: Super performance. Constantly found himself in good positions and played a superb ball to release Iwobi to seal the win.
Gabriel – 7.5: He and Koscielny had a hold on the Everton forwards and dealt with the minimal attacking threat.
Laurent Koscielny – 7: In truth, was hardly noticeable with minimal threat.
Nacho Monreal – 7: Solid on the left with much of the play down the opposite flank.
Francis Coquelin – 7.5: Kept the Everton midfielders accountable.
Mohamed Elneny – 8: Probably the best of any midfielder. Looked assured and confident when on the ball.
Mesut Ozil – 6.5: A little less deadly today but was dangerous nevertheless.
Alex Iwobi – 8: Scored a terrific counter-attacking goal on his Premier League debut. You can’t ask for much more than that.
Alexis Sanchez – 7.5: Slid a delightfully deft ball through for Danny Welbeck who opened the scoring.
Danny Welbeck – 7.5: Coolly finished off Sanchez’s through ball, rounding Joel.
Substitutes
Kieran Gibbs – N/A: Offered Ozil a spell with a quarter of an hour left.
Olivier Giroud – N/A: Came close a couple of times after entering the field but his goal drought continued.
Callum Chambers – N/A: Brought on simply to shut the game down and chew up time.
