El Salvador and Canada are set to continue their World Cup qualification campaigns at the BC Place in Vancouver tomorrow.

However, at a press conference earlier today La Selecta players reportedly played a recording of a man offering the team money to fix the result.

“El Salvador players just ended a presser. They played a recording of a man that offered them money to beat Canada or lose by 1,” wrote @AndreasCantorGOL on Twitter.

“According to the man on the recording, the offer to EL Salvador players was: $30 per min played for a win. $20/min for a tie, $15 for a 1-0 loss.

“The El Salvador players said that Ricardo Padilla a former club [president] & businesman showed up at the team’s hotel and asked to speak [with] players.”

14 El Salvador footballers were given lifetime bans from the sport in September 2013, after a previous investigation into match fixing within the national team.

The news comes in the wake of Slovakia defender Jan Durica claiming their 1-0 loss to England on Monday morning was fixed.
