West Ham United star Dimitri Payet said that the rabona assist in Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Watford came naturally to him.
Payet, 29, has been a revelation since swapping Ligue 1 for East London, quickly becoming a fan favourite as well as putting in a good showing for France at Euro 2016.
After collecting a long pass, Payet surged into the area, cutting inside of his marker before executing a rabona pass with wonderful precision. Michel Antonio was on hand at the far post to dispatch the finisjh
“It was something that came instinctively to me at that time in the game,” he told West Ham‘s official website.
“I thought that it was the best thing to do at that moment and I did it and it worked. When it works, the skill becomes even more impressive.”
“I have come back with the same ambitions that I had last season,” he added.
“I want to do the best I can on the pitch and to perform as I know I can both with my club and the national side.”
