Four unanswered goals saw Chelsea over the line against Leicester in the EFL Cup and spared the blushes of returning defender David Luiz.
A commanding start saw the Foxes 2-0 up after Shinji Okazaki’s early brace, only to be pegged back by goals from Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Marcin Wasilewski’s red card in the final minutes of the 90 gave an indication of how the contest would end though, and a quick double from Cesc Fabregas in extra time sealed the comeback.
Not every Chelsea player was praised after the match, however, with Luiz singled out in particular after his defensive efforts lead to a number of nervous moments.
The Brazilian lost sight of Okazaki twice inside the box before both of Leicester’s goals and was beaten far too easily when trying to contend for the ball against Ahmed Musa, which led to a one-on-one chance against Asmir Begovic that was put just wide of the post.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter following Luiz’s performance:
David Luiz hasn’t changed during his time away.

Watching David Luiz at centre half is like watching a goldfish that has jumped out the tank – hasn’t got a clue what to do but flap & flap.

In my opinion it’s not rocket science David Luiz is probably the last player you would want to put in an already shaky defence
