Two days after FC Barcelona great Xavi accused Cristiano Ronaldo of being jealous of former team mate Lionel Messi, the Real Madrid midfielder has hit back.
Ronaldo potted Xavi about his lack of Ballon d’Or awards, adding that he “could not care less” what the 36-year-old had to say about him.

“I’m the most searched player on the internet,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying in Spanish publication MARCA.
“Anyone who wants free publicity or media attention talks about me.
“I couldn’t care less about what Xavi says about me, he plays in Qatar or I don’t even know where.
“He’s won every collective trophy, including a World Cup and the European Championship, but he’s never won a Ballon D’Or.”
“It’s a privilege for me to have won the Ballon d’Or three times with Messi contending for the award.”
For the record, Ronaldo has won the award three times in 2008, 2013 and 2014, while Messi won the award four times in a row between 2009 and 2012 as well as in 2015.
