Former Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale believes that AS Roma should retire the club’s No.10 jersey once Francesco Totti decides to end his career.

Di Natale remains without a club since departing the Zebrette at the conclusion of 2015-16, after spending 12 years playing at the Dacia Arena.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport reported through Football Italia, the striker was full of praise for the Giallorossi legend, who has developed in the Italian capital since his youth career in 1989.

“Totti? He’s a friend, a beautiful person and an extraordinary player,” Di Natale said.

“I have his jersey and I’m proud. Even in his case, the club will decide what to do with his No.10, but I wouldn’t give it to anybody.”

The 38-year-old also spoke of the importance that possessing the No.10 at Udinese had for him.

“It’s a very heavy shirt,” he said.

“It’s worn by someone who has something extraordinary, off the cuff, and did important things.”

Roma captain Totti made his first-team debut back in 1993 and has represented the Italian national side on 59 occasions, scoring nine goals.
