Aaron Mooy’s brilliant Championship debut has been rounded out with selection in EFL’s Football League team of the week.

The Socceroo played the full 90 and starred as Huddersfield Town defeated Brentford 2-1 at John Smith’s Stadium, leaving Terriers fans in awe of the ‘Bald-headed Busquets’.

The 25-year-old’s eye-catching performance in midfield went beyond the reaches of the fans, rewarded with selection in a midfield three of EFL’s matchday one team of the week, chosen across all three Football League tiers (Championship, League One, League Two).

Mooy’s new employers Manchester City sent the player on loan to Huddersfield for the 2016-17 season after joining from sister club Melbourne City, and it is so far, so good for Australia’s midfield fulcrum.

Sixth after the opening day, Huddersfield’s next match is a League Cup tie away to Shrewsbury Town in Wednesday morning’s early hours before consecutive away trips to English football big boys and promotion favourites Newcastle United and Aston Villa in the league.
