Aaron Mooy has been named by fans as Huddersfield Town’s Player of the Month for August.

The 25-year-old won the award on Wednesday, with members of the Blue and White Foundation voting Mooy ahead of Elias Kachunga, Jonathan Hogg and Danny Ward.

The Australian made a quick impression on the Championship after “a string of great performances in Town’s engine room” helped to push the Terriers to an undefeated start to the 2016-17 season.

Huddersfield are yet to lose a league match this campaign, with their only loss coming to League One side Shrewsbury in the League Cup first round.

They currently sit atop the Championship with 13 points, two ahead of second placed Fulham.

The on-loan midfielder from Manchester City was a key part of the Huddersfield side in August, playing 416 out of a possible 450 minutes for the side in their opening five matches of the season.

Mooy is currently part of the Australia squad that is due to play Iraq on Thursday in the World Cup Qualifiers, with another match against the United Arab Emirates following on Tuesday before a return to Huddersfield ahead of their match against Leeds United on the 10th of September.
