A hat-trick from Jamie Maclaren saw the Roar return to the top of the table, claiming a 5-0 win over defending champions Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.

Here are the players who struggled on the night.

Rashid Mahazi (Melbourne Victory) – With Leigh Broxham sitting on the bench, likely in anticipation of Victory’s clash with Suwon Bluewings on Tuesday, the onus was (perhaps unfairly) on Mahazi to put in a mountain of defensive work in the middle. While the 23-year-old worked hard early, the initial effort subsided and he was a non-entity as Brisbane charged forward. An eighth yellow card for the season meant Mahazi will miss next week’s clash with Newcastle, further salt in the wound.

Oliver Bozanic (Melbourne Victory) – After an impressive start to the season, Bozanic has trailed off in the absence of captain Carl Valeri, and tonight was another lacklustre display. The former Luzern midfielder showed little interest in running defensively or tackling, and wasted his few attacking forays.

Scott Galloway (Melbourne Victory) – A promising start gave way to a dirty night for the Olyroos defender. A precise through ball to Fahid Ben Khalfallah nearly led to an opener for Victory, but the tide turned thereafter, Galloway consistently beaten by a fleet-footed Hingert. A 67th minute substitution concluded a dreadful performance.
