Serie A’s biggest contest of the season has been run and won.
There were those who were crucial to success, but which players were not so good?
Raul Albiol
Something of a harsh selection, but it was him the Spaniard who was unlucky enough to deflect zaza’s strike goal-bound, leaving Pepe Reina with little chance to make a save.
Serie A – What We Learned – Juventus 1 Napoli 0
Jose Callejon
Considering Callejon played the full 90 minutes, he was very quiet on the right side of the field. Having Lorenzo Insigne on the other side as a go-to outlet did not, and has not, helped his cause. The former Real Madrid dasher has been struggling to find consistency all season and has been simply unable to finish off opportunities that, by his standards, are bread and butter.
Gonzalo Higuain
In a rare quiet performance, Higuain was ineffective up front, completely blanketed by Andrea Barzagli. The Argentinian had very few chances on the night, really only one of note, and that was fired wide of the target.
