With the start of the new A-League season just around the corner, Outside90 takes a look at five central-midfielders that will be key towards their team’s success in 2015-16.

Ollie Bozanic (Melbourne Victory)

Returning to the A-League following his stint with Swiss club FC Luzern, Ollie Bozanic is the Melbourne Victory’s new marquee player, signing on a three-year contract and replacing the departed Mark Milligan. Exhibiting a solid run of form early in his stint for FC Luzern, scoring five goals in the No.10 position, Bozanic will most likely play next to Carl Valeri in a more defensive role. Although, this can change with Kevin Muscat’s utilisation of the ‘Socceroos’ formation during trial games (a 4-3-3 with Valeri anchoring the midfield and Bozanic more attacking) and he could provide competiton for Gui Finkler in regard to the cheif playmaking spot. The 26-year-old will need to replicate the quality and drive that the former captain had in the spine of the team’s successful title charge.
