Aaron Mooy (Melbourne City)
Aaron Mooy has taken his excellent performances from club level towards a call up for the Socceroos in recent World Cup Qualifiers against Bangladesh and Tajikistan. Mooy signed a new Melbourne City contract during the offseason elevating him as a marquee player, following the retirement of veteran striker Josh Kennedy. An engine within the line, contributing with a strong passing and a lethal ability from set pieces, the 25-year-old should develop further as the competition’s best midfielder. Mooy scored seven goals throughout 2014-2015 as well as several assists and was always a key attacking presence. Expect similar numbers for the new season as John van’t Schip’s side mount a title attack.
Aaron Mooy has now scored six of @MelbourneCity‘s 12 @FFACup goals in 2015.
