Lezcano loses temper after a busy day at the Swissporarena

FC Luzern hosted Grasshopper Zurich on Sunday in a highly-entertaining 3-3 affair.

One could tell from the start that Markus Babbel’s men were not holding back, finding the net in the 11th minute when a pass from Marco Schneuwly found Dario Lezcano who finished with a picturesque chip of the goalkeeper.

Five minutes later, Luzern were back in attack as a Jerome Thiesson cross ball picked out the head of Marco Schneuwly to make it 2-0.

Though the first-half drama did not stop there, this time Grasshopper Zurich were moving forward when a long-range strike from Yoric Ravet resulted in a 23rd minute goal.

Soon after, the visitors had a corner which found Alban Pnishi, unmarked at the far post for a simple tap-in to level the scores.

At this point it was game on.

In the 77th minute Luzern were back in the lead after Dario Lezcano was bought down in the box and the referee had no choice but to award the penalty.

The hosts may have thought they were in the clear, however, in football things can change very quickly.

In the 87th minute Grasshopper Zurich clawed their way back into the game when Manus Dabbur recived a scrappy pass from his team mate, with nothing left to do but beat the custodian.

Just before the full-time whistle, Lezcano lost his temper and received a second yellow which resulted in his sending-off.
