Deadline day additions looking the part for Inter

Yet another hot topic heading into the match, three of Inter’s four deadline day and late deals featured at the San Siro against AC Milan. Both Ivan Perišic and Felipe Melo started for Inter, whilst Brazilian left-back Alex Telles came off the bench.

Melo was up there with compatriot Juan in being one of the best performers on the day, breaking up play at the base of midfield, nullifying the attacking threat of Keisuke Honda and providing a combative presence in the centre of the pitch. More performances like this from the former Galatasaray man and the €3.4 million fee paid for him may look a bargain.

Fellow Brazilian Telles featured in the final 25 minutes of the match, coming on for Juan and impressing greatly.

Comfortable and composed on the ball, and providing a threat in attack whilst showing he is competent in defence, this signing in particular could be key for the Nerazzurri in their quest to return to the Champions League.

Lastly, Perišic. The Croatian was taken off with what looked to be a hamstring injury. In saying this, however, he did little wrong on the ball, and actually provided a few neat touches and passes.

In what was a quiet day for the former Dortmund man, much more can be expected of him and his quality will eventually be on display for all to see at the San Siro.
