A brace from Carlos Bacca and a free kick stunner from Giacomo Bonaventura were just enough to see AC Milan over Palermo.

AC Milan gained a narrow 3-2 victory over Palermo in what was a tight contest. A brace from new signing Carlos Bacca and a stunning free-kick goal from Giacomo Bonaventura gave the Rossoneri a much needed bounce back from last weeks’ derby loss, and delivered Palermo their first loss of the season.

Milan opened the scoring in the 21st minute with Bacca latching onto a Bonaventura back heel pass in the box, easing it past the Palermo keeper. The Colombian then notched his second goal in the 75th minute with a smashing header, which eventually proved to be the decisive goal in the match.

Oscar Hiljemark kept Palermo in the match, grabbing two goals either side of half time but it was Milan and Bacca who proved to be the winners. Man of the Match, Bonaventura scored arguably the highlight goal of the match with a stunning free kick, curling it into the top left corner of the goal in the 40th minute from 25 yards out.

Milan dominated with 60% possession and controlled the midfield, with the two goals from Palermo coming from defensive errors from Matteo De Sciglio and an error from Goalkeeper Diego Lopez. The win moves Milan into 6th spot with 6 points.
