The top-of-the-table clash brought what the pundits thought it might with a quality clash that literally came down to the final seconds of the match.
Unsurprisingly it was in-form Gonzalo Higuain who started the game in style, scoring an excellent opener in just the second minute of the match after Napoli almost conceded at the other end. This was a game of who could slip up least in defence with plenty of lapses at the back and Inter Milan looking very different to the leading defensive team of the season.
There was also a contentious foul awarded to Inter that could have been a penalty to Kalidou Koulibaly and could have seen Napoli double their money.
Proceedings then calmed down before Yuto Nagatomo committed to a very poor challenge to earn his second yellow card in the first half and make Inter’s task that much harder.
In the end, another goal to Higuain, his 12th this season, sealed the game before a late Inter comeback almost salvaged a point, only for i Partenopei to be saved by gloveman Pepe Reina and the goalpost.
