Pepe Reina – 8: Did not have a lot to do until the 65th minute and beyond. Ended up saving the win with a finger tip save onto the post in the final minute.
Elseid Hysaj – 5: Not a great game. Went forward well but defensively, was average.
Kalidou Koulibaly – 4: Did not play well. Gave up a lot of easy ball.
Raul Albiol – 7: Was fairly solid at the back and also got a rare assist for the goal that was the difference between the two teams.
Fazi Ghoulam – 5: Had the chance to stop the goal but touched the ball straight back to Adem Ljajic.
Allan – 6: Did not do anything special but did his job fairly well.
Jorginho – 6: One of his lesser games and did not hit his highest heights.
Marek Hamsik – 7: Taken off at the 80-minute mark. Played well and led by example although did not do anything too special.
Jose Callejon – 6.5: Worked hard for his team but still struggling to score in the league with a fairly tough chance early on.
Lorenzo Insigne – 7.5: Subbed off at the 70-minute mark. Played well during that time and was an integral part of the first goal. Always looked dangerous running at the defence.
Gonzalo Higuain – 9.5: Great game for Napoli’s lead man with a double and was not far away from his hat-trick.
Substitutes
Omar El Kaddouri – 5: Did not have much of an impact on the game although added some required fresh legs.
David Lopez – N/A: Was not on long enough to make a difference.
Christian Maggio – N/A: Much the same as Lopez.
