Gestede equals goals
Gestede has strengths and weaknesses like any footballer. But too often we have seen his limitations in recent weeks when left isolated in attack with the responsibility of holding the ball up. However three very well taken goals this week – including a brace in this game – proves the 6ft 4in target man can indeed score the goals to keep Villa in the Premier League.
His first was a poacher’s finish at the far post following a whipped cross from Alan Hutton, and his second a powerful header from another cross into the box, this time from Jordan Amavi. Villa, though, have to start playing to the strikers strengths more often as he had little service in the first-half with Scott Sinclair and Jack Grealish in wide positions.
