It was a flattering scoreline of 4-1 for PSG, in a game that was not as one-sided as that scoreline suggests. Goals from Angel Di Maria, Serge Aurier, Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw the defending champions pull back in front after suffering perhaps their worst half of football this season.

Laurent Blanc’s team were devoid of ideas in the first half and Nantes took an early lead. The game changed completely in the second, particularly with the introduction of Thiago Motta.

Ibrahimovic equalised early and from then on it was all PSG, and a stunning Angel Di Maria chip on 80 minutes put the game beyond doubt. Just to make sure though, Serge Aurier added more misery for Nantes before the final whistle sounded.

Player Ratings: Nantes

Remy Riou 5 – Didn’t have his best game, parried too often and was caught out by Ibrahimovic. His defenders, however, were more at fault for conceding so many than he was.

Leo Dubois 5.5 – Was tasked with sticking to Lucas and did so to great effect, as the Brazilian was absent throughout.

Wilfried Moimbe 6 – Would have had a higher rating had he kept up his performance throughout, unfortunately Di Maria and Aurier got the best of him later on.

Lorik Cana 5.5 – Had a lot of success in the first half, a common theme for Nantes, but couldn’t keep that going into the second.

Oswaldo Vizcarrondo 3 – Worst player on the field, at fault for at least two of the goals and didn’t have a good game at all.

Jules Iloki 5 – Kept Kurzama honest in the first half using his pace to pin the fullback into his own half at times. Again, couldn’t keep it going throughout.

Valentin Rongier 6 – Provided the assist for Nantes’ goal and occasionally showed good vision.

Alejandro Bedoya 7.5 – Nantes’ best player. Very intelligent footballer, constantly creating space with and without the ball. Linked up with attackers brilliantly at times.

Ermir Lenjani 5.5 – Similar to Iloki, had good moments when he was marauding down the wing, but couldn’t keep it up for the full 90.

Birama Traore 4.5 – Lost the ball too often. Scuppered many of his teams’ attacks with sloppy touches or a wayward pass.

Yacine Bammou 7 – Caused real problems for the PSG defence with his speed. Looked like he’d get on the score-sheet early and did with a great header.
