Saido Berahino netted the only goal of the game on his return to the fray as West Brom beat Aston Villa 1-0 at Villa Park on Saturday.

With Berahino back in the team after his much talked about transfer request, the main focus of the game surrounded the young English striker.

His goal was the only difference on the day, in a game that West Brom controlled throughout.

Chances were at a premium for both sides in a feisty Midlands Derby, with most of them falling to the away side.

Solomon Rondon continued to  find his feet in the Premier League but was unable to convert any of his chances.

At the other end, Villa did have the ball in the net during the second half, but referee Chris Foy had already blown up for a foul on Jack Grealish just before Micah Richards headed home from eight yards.

It was a straightforward win for the Baggies who move up into the top half of the table for the first time this season, whereas Villa sit just above the relegation zone.
