Swansea City and Everton fought out an entertaining scoreless draw at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Both sides had their chances in a match that was near even on the balance of play, yet was riddled with wasted chances.

Bafetimbi Gomis went closest for the hosts in the opening stanza while a flurry of near misses went begging for the Toffees thereafter.

The away side finished the match with 10 men after Kevin Mirallas was shown a straight red card in the 94th minute, barely 120 seconds after being introduced. The Belgian lunged into a tackle on Swans substitute Modou Barrow two-footed and with studs raised.

The stalemate leaves both sides sitting on nine points and means Everton still have not conceded a goal on the road so far this season.

A tricky away trip to St Mary’s faces Garry Monk’s side next week while the Blues venture to the Midlands to face West Bromwich Albion.
