Enigmatic Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor is set to move to Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonais, according to French media.

L’Equipe report the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur striker flew to Lyon on Wednesday evening with details of the move still to be thrashed out.

Les Gones have turned to Adebayor intent on bolstering their attacking options.

They were in action this morning in the Champions League, defeating Dinamo Zagreb 3-0.

Adebayor last played for Premier League side Crystal Palace, where he spent five months from January through June. He made seven appearances and scored one goal.

The 32-year-old also spent time under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid in 2011.

Adebayor has established a reputation as something of a polarising figure, particularly among Arsenal fans.

After swapping the Emirates for the Etihad in 2009, Adebayor famously ran the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the Gunners faithful after scoring in Manchester City’s 4-2 win over the North Londoners.

He became even less popular with Arsenal supporters after signing with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur firstly on loan in 2011 and then on a permanent basis a year later.
