Bastian Schweinsteiger has revealed that he will not join another club in Europe, with rumours heavily linking him with a move away from Manchester United.

The recently retired German international has yet to feature under new manager Jose Mourinho and has reportedly been training with the club’s under-23 side according to multiple accounts.

Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s arrivals have limited Schweinsteiger’s opportunities in the first team and Mourinho has elected to play the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera ahead of the German.

ESPN FC is reporting the midfielder is still set to be sold before the transfer window closes next week despite his eagerness to remain with the Red Devils.

Overnight the midfielder took to Twitter to inform fans of his current situation.

“MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect the other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich,” he said.

The 32-year-old expressed his desire to the club and was ready whenever his number was called by the manager.

“I will be ready, if the team needs me. This is all I can say about the current situation.

“I want to thank the fans for the amazing support over the recent weeks.”

United may have no other option to release the player by negotiating a settlement deal, which could prove difficult due to his high wages.

Schweinsteiger only joined the club last summer on a three-year deal and struggled to find consistent form last season as he battled injury.
