PS4 AVPL Team of the Week – Week 5

 TOTW_PS4 (5)GK – Twitchy (Pied Piper FC)

We have become accustomed to this selection, as the Pied Piper custodian continues to shine in goal for the minor premiers. Twitchy took full use of the extended week as he easily outshone any other player in the AVPL. The keeper made a huge 38 saves in just eight matches, with six of those matches ending in a clean sheet.

CB – melbproplayer (Not Them Again)

One of the standout defenders in the AVPL this season, Johno’s profile continues to soar as the Not Them Again defender gains TOTW honours. Part of a peripheral lineup that has not lost a game since Round 6, Johno kept three clean sheets in eight alongside 18 tackles in the final week of the season.

CB – lukec56 (Mighty Fuchs)

After bursting onto the scene last season with Klopp This, Luke has somewhat been withheld this season. Not withstanding, Luke remains one of the strongest defenders in the AVPL, showcasing his talents this week. As his side fought for a finals spot, Luke made eight tackles in eight with five clean sheets to help his side to a top 10 finish.

CB – Jerome90 (Gone Fishin)

Making up the last spot in defence is the ever-reliable Jerome, who flourished this season for finals contenders Gone Fishin. The defender made 10 tackles in his eight match, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

LM – rivercard (iLLusive Devils)

It was a very good week for rivercard, who is the first iLLusive Devils player to be recognised in the TOTW this season. The head to head maestro has slowly been making inroads in the Pro Clubs scene, with his most notable performances this week showcasing his ability. The midfielder made a huge 24 tackles in his eight matches to sky rocket up the leaderboards.

CM – Weirdo_Biz (Neverlusin FC)

Heavily underrated among talent in the AVPL, Weirdo was close to his illustrious best this week, scoring twice and assisting three times in the seven matches he played. The highest scoring midfielder this week, Weirdo added on a plethora of tackles, making 30 at a fantastic average of 4.3 per game.

CM – ICYRX8 (Pied Piper FC)

It was a well-rounded week for the Pied Piper utility with ICY being heavily involved in his sides attacking and defensive antiques. Another head to head star, ICY banged in four goals and assisted one from eight matches while also making 18 tackles.

RM – Sp18000V (Big Orses)

Notoriously one of the best defensive midfielders in the AVPL, SPV has enjoyed a new lease of life as the free roam midfielder at Big Orses this season. In nine matches this week, SPV scored two and assisted three, highlighting his ability to win matches for his side.

LF – Jay (Big Orses)

Another star in the Big Orses lineup, Jay was at his instrumental best this week, scoring an impressive eight goals while also assisting five in his nine matches. It was a welcome return for Jay, who feels he could have performed better this season.

RF – FoolishTurban (Imperials)

Despite narrowly missing out on the finals, Imperials striker FoolishTurban had to be at his best in key games this week with several big performances. Turban scored an imposing seven goals and six assists in eight matches, linking up brilliantly with MitchBraaahz.

ST – xChiellini-3 (Southern Stars)

After a tough season for bottom half side Southern Stars, it was a matter of ending of the season well and without this man, it may well not have been possible. After showing us his class over and over again, season after season, Chiellini went on a rampage in the final week of the season, scoring a mammoth 13 goals in eight matches alongside two assists to win himself the Golden Boot by the narrowest of margins.

Performance of the Week – FoolishTurban (Imperials), Round 27

HeroCard_PS4 (4)

One of the biggest wins this season saw Imperials defeat a hapless FullManaualOnly 7-0 in Round 27, with FoolishTurban playing a major role in his sides success that game. The striker scored a very impressive hat-trick, while also assisting twice for MitchBraaahz to cap off a fine season.
