XBOX AVPL Team of the Week – Week 5
GK – NZPure (HereForBeer FC)
It has become a common theme each week to see NZPure wear the gloves in the TOTW, and this instalment is no different. The HereForBeer custodian was again the pick of the bunch, making 26 saves in eight matches while keeping three clean sheets.
CB – WIZZYBANG (Roll Tide CF)
An interesting selection into the TOTW, WIZZY ticks all the boxes for Roll Tide CF and he did so this week, keeping three clean sheets and making 17 tackles in eight matches.
CB – Valour (Faceless Men CF)
A well-known face in the AVPL, Valour boosted his credentials as a top defender this week with brilliant performances for Faceless Men CF. The central defender kept five clean sheets in eight while also making 11 tackles.
CB – Dawson (La Masia CF)
Another fantastic week for the La Masia CF defender, who continues to ride his wave of form all the way to the finish line. Playing at the heart of the defence, Dawson made five tackles and kept four clean sheets in eight matches.
LM – Picklesaw (RUTHLESS CF)
Yet again, another week in the TOTW for the RUTHLESS CF playmaker as he went to town on his opponents. The maestro scored twice and assisted four alongside an impressive 14 tackles from his eight matches.
CM – Ow_Nonu_Bro (Faceless Men CF)
It’s been a long time coming for the Kiwi International, but finally Nonu has something to show for his hard work this season. The midfielder ran rampant this week, assisting a humungous 14 times while also scoring once in eight matches.
CM – JacobSwans (Melbourne born)
It is another appearance in the TOTW for the Melbourne-born star with the defensive midfielder showcasing his talents to perfection. A huge 38 tackles in eight matches outshines all those who come close, while he put the cherries on top with an assist.
RM – Vaslocoes (NO TENSION FC)
With appearances few and far between in the TOTW this season, this week we are blessed with Vaslocoes presence! The midfielder scored a handful this week, banging in five from eight matches while also making 16 tackles.
LF – Jayninho7 (La Masia CF)
A fantastic season by Jay was capped off in the best way possible this week as the striker put in performances to remember. The MVP candidate netted five times and assisted seven in just seven matches.
RF – NeymarSnr (La Masia CF)
Much like his teammate Jay, it’s been a fantastic season for the La Masia CF striker and he capped off his season in similar fashion. He also scored five and assisted seven, only this time taking the one extra game to do so than Jay.
ST – LordFarcuaad (Faceless Men CF)
Regarded one of the best strikers the AVPL has seen, Farcuaad saved his best for last this season as the attacker delivered the goods for Faceless Men CF. He popped in a very impressive 11 goals in eight matches, assisting five times in the process.
Performance of the Week – LordFarcuaad (Faceless Men CF), Round 12
We have seen some incredible performances this season, but this performance in round 12 is sure to rival them! Faceless Men CF striker LordFarcuaad went on a rampage against Melbourne born, scoring four goals and assisting in an aggregated 9-0 win.
