Dylan McGowan
An Adelaide product, McGowan returned to his home city in 2014 after a four-year stint with Scottish side Hearts of Midlothian. McGowan made 26 appearances for the Reds in 2014, as part of an often-rotating central defending partnership between himself, Osama Malik and Nigel Boogaard. With Boogaard departing to Newcastle Jets this off-season, McGowan has thus far established himself as part of Guillermo Amor’s preferred defensive set-up, ahead of new recruit Iacopo La Rocca. Although sent off for a professional foul late in Adelaide’s 2-1 FFA Cup win against Sydney FC only weeks ago, McGowan proved the match winner by scoring late in extra time to put the Reds ahead. A skilful and composed defender, McGowan should flourish in 2015.
