West Ham United

Adrian – 5: Conceded two goals from excellent finishes from the opposition, put in an average performance.

James Tomkins – 6: Was solid all game, limiting the attacking threat of Fletcher and commanded the air all game. Not at fault for either of the goals conceded.

Winston Reid – 4: Looked off from the start, lacked the physicality and concentration needed to hold the Sunderland front line. Substituted just after the hour mark.

Carl Jenkinson – 6: Made a great run to smash home his side’s first goal of the game from a Victor Moses cross.

Aaron Cresswell – 4: Had a lot of work to do in the first half with Lens causing him all sorts of problems before his sending off.

Mark Noble – 5: Controlled the West Ham midfield and was calm in possession. Was lucky to stay on the pitch after his clumsy tackle on Borini which could have seen a second yellow.

Cheikhou Kouyate – 4: Struggled to influence the game both in attack and defence.

Manuel Lanzini – 6: Confident and creative on the ball, looking to create chances for his side. His powerful strike from long-range created a rebound for Payet to smash home.

Dimitri Payet – 7: His creativity and trickery was again on show today, causing problems for Sunderland’s defenders, before levelling the game after pouncing on a rebound from Pantillimon.

Victor Moses – 5: Very limited in his attacking output, though he did manage to put in a quality ball for Jenkinson to score.

Diafra Sakho – 3: Struggled to influence the contest at all throughout the match. Received close attention from the Sunderland defence.
