AFC Bournemouth

Artur Boruc – 6: Was left exposed by his defence as Cleverley scored. Could do little to stop his strike and indeed that of Baines. Those aside, Boruc kept smartly throughout.

Simon Francis – 5.5: Will be disappointed Baines’ first goal from open play in three years came down his flank. Struggled to have an impact in attack.

Tommy Elphick – 5.5: He and partner Cook were astute for the most part but will not be pleased with Cleverley’s goal. The Bournemouth defence could and probably should have applied more pressure.

Charlie Daniels – 6.5: Tried hard and can hold his head high.

Steve Cook – 5.5: Like Elphick, he won’t be happy about Everton’s first but was not at fault for the second goal.

Matt Ritchie – 5: Hardly threatened.

Harry Arter – 5.5: Distributed well but nothing brilliant to note.

Andrew Surman – 6: Was very busy in midfield helping nullity the threats posed by Barkley and Gibson.

Marc Pugh – 6.5: Bundled home an instant equaliser, making the most of a defence all at sea. Replaced with 25 minutes left.

Callum Wilson – 7: Had a crucial involvement in his first start back from a knee injury, playing the cross that ultimately allowed Pugh in. That moment did not come without controversy, however, with Everton arguing the striker fouled Pennington in the lead-up. Overall, will be pleased with his return to the starting XI.

Joshua King – 6: An instinctive knock-down of sorts found its way to Pugh, who scored.

Substitutes

Benik Afobe – 5: Missed a golden chance for 2-2 with 10 minutes left.

Lewis Grabban – N/A: Did not really affect the play.

Junior Stanislas – 5.5: Offered the Cherries a new outlet and had a positive impact, despite that influence not eventuating to a goal.
