Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool)

The French international barely got a chance to play under Rodgers at the start of the season but has come to life under Klopp and returned the favour with some stand out defending, which has earned him the plaudits of many Liverpool supporters – some who think he is the club’s best centre back.

The Reds like to keep the ball and patiently wait for the right opportunity to strike and Sakho has certainly played his part in this department, having completed 275 passes, or 91%. On the back foot he has also been strong, with a 75% success rate in tackles and 62% in all 45 challenges, that is in flight, grounded and with possession.

Asmir Begovic (Chelsea)

The Bosnian goalkeeper has been a mixed bag for the Blues, but as a whole it has been a positive purchase for Roman Abramovich. Since replacing Thibaut Courtois, Begovic has conceded 14 goals, 11 from inside the box and three from outside, however, he has made 26 saves, 19 of which have been inside the box.

Furthermore, he has had excellent distribution having made 91 successful passes at an accuracy over 95% for his throws, 24 in total.

Alberto Moreno (Liverpool)

After fighting-off an early challenge from youngster Joe Gomez, Alberto Moreno has cemented his place back within the starting team, and the Spaniard has already grown under the short reign of Klopp. He looks confident, hungry and more aggressive defensively, a side of his game that has been criticised in the past.

The former Sevilla defender has recorded positive percentages in his tackling, aerial duels and take-ons, while also becoming more and more of threat on the front foot. This is especially from out wide, where he has delivered 39 crosses and created 17 shot assists. If only Liverpool could be more clinical up front.
