Real Madrid notched another win in their La Liga campaign with a 4-1 victory against Getafe at the Santiago Bernebau.
The Los Blancos trio of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo were all on song in the match, with the Frenchman scoring an early brace to give the hosts the early advantage.
On the rare occasions that the opposition had scoring opportunities, they were floundered and allowed their fierce competition to come forward on the counter.
Bale’s precise strike gave Real their third, while it was the Portuguese forward who added his name to the score board with a low drive just prior to the halftime break.
Unfortunately for the Madridistas in attendance, the second term was lacklustre as they appeared content to defend their lead. Getafe grew in confidence and had the momentum on their side, enjoying a larger amount of possession.
It was Alexis whose header managed to beat defender Pepe and pull one back for the visitors, despite the commanding deficit.
The win was enough for the hosts to place pressure on league leaders Barcelona.
