This summer winter has been just another with plenty of player movement among the Premier League clubs.

While the usual suspects have been spending big in order to close the gap of their rivals, we pick out five of the best.

Paul Pogba – Juventus to Manchester United

This is the top and the most eagerly awaited transfer this window has seen, with Jose Mourinho finally securing the signature he so dearly craved. Under the guidance of one of the best managers in Europe, it is little wonder Pogba chose to rejoin the Red Devils. Mourinho will hope Pogba can replicate what he provided in Turin.

Victor Valdes – Manchester United to Middlesbrough

This is a huge signing for the Boro. Valdes may have had a torrid time at United, but having an ex-Barcelona player in the Boro dressing room will add a wealth of experience and knowledge to a team that will be looking to stay in the top flight. The move is a good one on a personal level for Valdes who will be looking to reignite his career by securing more playing time.

Aston Villa v Middlesbrough - Pre-Season Friendly

Loris Karius – FC Mainz to Liverpool

If there was one thing that Liverpool needed in this transfer window, it was another goalkeeper. Marred by a series of schoolboy errors at Anfield, the Belgian custodian and the Reds were desperately in need of a challenger. The signing of 23-year-old Karius could make life difficult for Mignolet with the two set to spar for the no.1 jersey.

Henrikh Mkhitaryn – Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United

Even before Pogba’s signing, Mourinho’s United midfield was looking strong after highly-rated Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined the ranks. Stats suggest he will have no trouble adopting to life at Old Trafford. Last season in the Bundesliga, Mkhitaryan created 15 assists and scored 11 goals while from 29 shots on target.

N’Golo Kante – Leicester City to Chelsea

There is no doubt Kante was one of the biggest stars in last season’s Premier League, playing a instrumental role in Leicester’s title success. ‘Kantelele’ has since moved to West London and could make life difficult for midfield counterpart Nemanja Matic, whose form did not reach the lofty heights of the season prior. Kante reads the play brilliantly and more of the same can be expected in Chelsea colours.
