Everton’s new majority investor Farhad Moshiri says he has been pleased by the club’s first steps under recently installed manager Ronald Koeman.

Moshiri owns a 49.9% stake in Everton having sold his shares in Arsenal in February.

It was under Moshiri’s watch that former boss Roberto Martinez was removed and Koeman brought in from Southampton.

After four Premier League matches, Everton sit third on the league table, boasting three wins and a draw, and that has left Moshiri impressed.

“I am very encouraged by the strong start we have made to the season which is our equal best since the start of the Premier League,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

“While there is a long season ahead, the players have adapted very well to the leadership of our new manager Ronald Koeman and we look forward to maintaining our momentum and a successful season.”
