In light of the mainstream network’s coverage of ‘soccer’ in Australia, a recent trend has been doing the rounds on social media, one that has taken all sorts of comical directions.
Average football fans have taken to networks like Seven, Nine and Ten on Facebook, taking the absolute mickey out of them with allegations of ‘soccer hooliganism’ at A-League matches.
The A-League has had an embattled start to the season, highlighted by Tuesday’s of the FFA failing to accept Wellington Phoenix’s request of a 10-year A-League license extension.
Coupled by the fact that following the two derbies so far this season, the mainstream press has lingered on the minute negative stories of poor crowd behaviour as opposed to the brilliant spectacle of the football.
Despite the bad press dampening spirits three weeks in, these responses are surely to bring a smile to your dial.
