The spoils were shared between the two sides at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, as Inter ensured they did not suffer back-to-back defeats following five wins on the trot, with Sampdoria mantaining their undefeated start at home in 2015-16.

Inter Milan and Sampdoria played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday evening, with Colombian striker Luis Muriel and new signing Ivan Perišic hitting the back of the net for their respective sides.

The deadlock was broken by the aforementioned Muriel shortly after the interval, with the 24-year-old tucking the ball away from a dangerous Pedro Pereira cross, giving his side a deserved lead following a lengthy spell of dominance in the first half.

However, Inter would eventually get an equaliser, with Perišic tapping home the easiest of close-range finishes, as club captain Mauro Icardi teed up the new arrival after he saw his inital effort on goal blocked by Pereira.

The result ensures Roberto Mancini’s side did not fall to a second consecutive defeat following a run of five straight wins in the league, whilst the Blucerchiati – though still unbeaten at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris – dropped their first points at home for the season.
