AC Milan secured their first win in a month by defeating Sassuolo 2-1 on Sunday, giving them a valuable three points to continue the hunt for a top spot finish.
Sassuolo were reduced to ten men in the 29th minute after goalkeeper Andrea Consigli was brought down Carlos Bacca in the penalty area. Domenico Berardi levelled for the visitors in the 53rd minute with a sublime free-kick sailing past young goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was making his first team debut at just 16 years of age.
The Rossoneri scored their second and the match winner in the 86th minute, with Luiz Adriano heading the ball into the back of the net from a corner.
The win provides some relief for coach Mihajlovic, who was under some serious pressure after several poor performances.
