Former Barcelona star Ronaldinho believes there’s one player on the planet right now who can reach the level of Argentinean superstar Lionel Messi.
The 36-year-old was quoted by Catalan newspaper Sport, claiming Messi is the greatest player of his era.
“Every era has its best player,” Ronaldinho said.
“Each one was the best of their time. And Leo is the best now.”
Messi has won a record five Ballon d’Or awards in his career to date and at 29 is showing no signs of slowing down.

However, his ex-teammate, Ronaldinho, does think their is one player capable of reaching the pinnacle of Messi’s powers and be spoken about in the same breadth.
The man he speaks of, Brazilian compatriot, Neymar.
“I think he will reach Leo’s level,” Ronaldinho admitted. “He’s going to be the best in time. He’s young and he’s won a lot. Like many others, though, he’s unfortunate to be around in the era of Messi.”
