GK – Twitchy (Pied Piper FC)

After capping off an impressive first week with a place in the Team of the Week, Twitchy is the first player to go back-to-back this season as he wears the gloves for a second time. A massive part of an imposing Pied Piper side, Twitchy kept a monstrous five clean sheets in six games this week, while also making 23 saves. He saved his best for Sam Pang FC, making six saves and keeping the opposing side scoreless in a 3-0 win.

CB – melbproplayer (Not Them Again)

Former Pitballs FC star melbproplayer, more commonly known as Johno, relished a huge week as his club Not Them Again kick-started their season. A highly touted youngster in the AVPL, Johno shook off the affects of Sunday’s double loss to Guunneerz and Pitballs to not concede for the remainder of the week. With a favourable run ahead, Johno will want to be at the forefront of his team’s rise up the table.

CB – Skidz (The Empire)

A notorious figure, the undeniably talented Skidz put on a clinic in week two of the AVPL as his club side The Empire maintained their seven game clean sheet streak. While he didn’t make the most tackles, Skidz was repelling everything, sweeping to absolute perfection. Should he continue his exciting start to the season, his form should see him rewarded with a place in the national team.

CB – leemwoo (Pied Piper FC)

Invigorated by his off-season move from WinRAR to Pied Piper, the defender claims a spot in the team of the week for the second time already this season having played a major role in his clubs rich vein of form. Once again at the heart of defence, Leem will be eager to keep his run going for the next week and beyond.

LM – A_Clark90 (Pied Piper FC)

Considered one of the most underrated players in the AVPL, Clark enjoyed a productive week as his side Pied Piper climbed to the top of the table. Taking his position in attacking midfield, Clark conquered each game he played in, most notably round seven against Sam Pang FC, where he scored twice and assisted once in a 3-0 win. He finished the week with four goals and three assists to place among the best midfielders for the week.

CM – Birdman (Southern Stars)

A veteran of the AVPL, Birdman cements his spot in the heart of the midfield following a colossal week for Southern Stars. Not only did he make 17 tackles, the star also scored three goals and assisted six times, showing he can control a game going both ways. He put on a clinic in his sides 3-0 win over CAMB FC2, scoring once and assisting twice.

CM – verratti_azzuri (Neverlusin FC)

Well I praised him for his astonishing debut week efforts last week, but this tops the cake. The youngster has certainly made his mark on the AVPL, scoring three and assisting four as he played a major role in Neverlusin’s midfield. Having only just made his competitive debut, there are high hopes for the rookie, with many saying his form warrants selection into the national team.

RM – RuuD264 (The Empire)

LEEEEEEEEEE! Okay, I don’t know what that means. I also don’t know how Ruud manages to amass the amount of tackles he does. At four and half tackles a game, Ruud made an astonishing 27 tackles in week two of the AVPL to earn himself a spot in the team of the week. Despite not helping out on the attacking front, Ruud has played an integral role in shielding the defence as The Empire continues their seven game clean sheet streak.

LF – riley_mitchell12 (Elite Eleven FC)

A titanic week for Riley as the Elite Eleven youngster amassed a whopping nine assists in just the five games to lead all comers in the Dishmaster award. While not the most prolific of strikers, having scored just the three this season, Riley’s role as the support striker has been the best in the league. In Elite Elevens’ 4-3 win over title favourites Black Bull FC, Riley assisted three times as EE pulled off the upset.

RF – MitchBraaahz (Imperials)

The fourth player to earn himself a place in the team of the week for the second time this season, Mitch picked up where he left off from week one to play a major role in Imperials respectable start to the season. The striker netted six times while also assisting three to sit second in the Golden Boot.

ST – D4W5ON_J07 (Not Them Again)

After a questionable start to the season for Not Them Again, club founder Dawson carried his team through week two with a plethora of quality performances as his side somewhat recover from the rut they were in. The NTA frontman was at the forefront of everything good, not only scoring six goals but chipping in with five assists too. His best came against Pitballs FC as Dawson scored twice and set up one only for his side to go down 5-4.

Performance of the Week – MitchBraaahz (Imperials), Round 9

HeroCard2_PS4 (2)

There have been a few matches this season that have stood out, but none more so than Imperials 7-2 victory over a worthy opponent in Pitballs FC. The man that made this happen was striker Mitch, who shouldered most of the work in the round nine clash. He was at his illustrious best, not only scoring three goals but also setting up a further three to prove to everyone why he still remains one of the premiere strikers in the AVPL.
