Perhaps the most frantic day in football, transfer deadline day has wrapped up in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Holland’s after yet another turbulent 24 hours of negotiation.
While the English transfer window is still open for another 13 hours (September 1: 18:00 UK time), the most hyped Premier League transfer of them all has run out of time.
This transfer was Manchester United’s botched transfer of David De Gea to Real Madrid, with the Spanish club supposedly unable to open the contract documents sent by United, and therefore late to submitting them to La Liga.
As a result, with the Spanish window shut, De Gea remains at Manchester United and it’s fair to say he is not a happy camper.

The De Gea to Real deal has to be the most embarrassing transfer since #LFC failed to get Clint Dempsey on deadline day.
