When your creative midfielder is telling you that the team concedes too many goals then you know you have problems at the back. Miralem Pjanic said Roma need to work on keeping clean sheets following the two goals they shipped against an average Palermo side. The Bosnian is right. Roma have only kept one clean sheet this season, away at newly-promoted Frosinone. Centre-back Kostas Manolas is the only Roma defender who was a regular last season, all the rest are new signings. Although most of them have fitted in well on a personal level, as a unit they still look shaky. Roma’s next game is at home to Empoli and one would hope the Giallorossi will be able to keep a clean sheet against them otherwise further questions will be asked of Roma’s back four.
